49th International Fine Art Colony “Sopoćanska viđenja”- Novi Pazar

Sopoćanska viđenja functioned as a temporary site for focused artistic work, exchange and reflection. Set in the cultural and historical landscape of Novi Pazar, the colony created a space removed from everyday routines, allowing for a slower rhythm of observation and making.

Within this context, my work developed through direct engagement with atmosphere, place and inner perception rather than illustrative references. The surrounding landscape and the collective presence of other artists shaped the process subtly, not as explicit themes, but as conditions that influenced gesture, colour and compositional tension.

The colony reinforced my ongoing interest in landscape as an active participant in the artistic process — not as a background, but as a field of presence, silence and accumulated meaning. Working in this environment allowed the painting process to unfold intuitively, balancing structure and openness, control and disruption.
